HISTORY
The Barceloneta is a sailor neighbourhood that was created when fishermen started to settle there because its near the sea. In fact, it's due to its beaches that's currently one of the most visited areas of Barcelona. During summer they're crowded with people laying under the sun, drinking in bars with sea views or excercising on its promenade.
Wandering through the narrow streets of the Barceloneta, different styles of architecture can be spotted on its buildings. Some are classic and others have traces of modernist style. At sunset the fishermen boats dock to unload the catch of the day, and restaurantes of the neighbourhood offer dishes that include this fresh fish.
