St. Stephen's Statue depicts the first king of Hungary, seating on a war horse and wearing the Hungarian crown and the coronation mantle. Stephen I was king from approx. the year 1000 until he died in 1038. He united the Magyar tribes and established Christianity at the beginning of the 11th Century.
