Buda Castle

Pedro says

Unless you're really into art, I wouldn't recommend to visit any of its museums.

Budapest, Szent György tér 2, 1014 Hungría

The Buda Castle is the palace of the Hungarian Kings throughout history. The main Baroque building that's there today was built between 1749 and 1769, but the first to be built in that spot was done in the 13th century. The complex consists of different sites, including the Royal Palace, Matthias Church, Museums and medieval houses.

It has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list since 1987.

Price: entering the streets and courtyards of the castle is free (except during festivals in which usually you have to pay a day ticket), but the museums have an entry fee.

Opening hours: the streets and courtyards are open all day, every day.

Museums are usually open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00. Times may vary depending on the season, but they're closed on Mondays.
