Museum

Hungarian National Gallery

Pedro says

I wouldn't go in unless you're really interested in art!

Information

Budapest, Szent György tér 2, 1014 Hungría

The Hungarian National Gallery was established as a National Art Museum in 1957. Its collections consist of different genres of hungarian art, including contemporary art. Most of the museum is dedicated to paintings, but there are also some sculptures. Some of the most important artists exhibited there are: Mihály Munkácsy, Pal Szinyei Merse and Bertalan Székely.

It was bombarded during the Second World War and most of it was destroyed, so the interior is not very impressive.
