The St. Nicholas Basilica is located opposite to the Amsterdam Centraal Station in the city center. It was built in 4 years, finished in 1887, and designed by architect Adrianus Blejis. It has a combination of revival styles, the most predominant being the Neo-Renaissance and Neo-Baroque. It was restored in 1999.
The building consists of two towers, a beautiful rose window, a central dome, a main nave and two chapels (one devoted to Mary and the other to Joseph).
INFORMATION
Price: free entrance.
Hours: Tuesday to Friday: 11:00 to 16:00. Mass is held from 12:30 to 13:00 and you can't walk around during this time.
Monday and Sunday: 12:00 to 15:00.
