The Royal Palace of Amsterdam is located in the Dam Square in the city center, and it's under disposal of the King.
The Palace was built in the 17th Century as a City Hall and it was inaugurated in 1655, during the Dutch Golden Age. It got a new function when Napoleon Bonaparte invaded The Netherlands: it became the residence of Louis Bonaparte, Napoleon's brother.
