The Rijksmuseum - in English "National Museum- has exhibitions of Arts and History and it's located in the Museum Square. It has over 8.000 works of art and some of the most famous artists showcased there are: Rembrandt, Vermeer, Hals.
It was first founded in 1800 in the Hague (South Holland) and transferred to Amsterdam 8 years later. The building in which it's located nowadays was designed by Dutch architect Pierre Cuypers.
