Fishermans' Bastion
Information
Budapest, Szentháromság tér 2., 1014 Hungría
The Fishermans' Bastion was built in the 19th century, from 1895 to 1902. Nowadays it's used as a lookout with amazing panoramic views of Budapest, but in the past it was actually used as a fortification for the castle. It has seven turrets that represent the seven Hungarian tribes who founded Hungary back in 895.
It received its name because fishermen were the ones in charge of protecting this area in case the army of the Mongols would return.
