One interesting fact: on Sunday mornings there's something called 'Speaker's corner', where anyone who wants can speak up and give a speach about any subject they want. There are usually debates and discussions, mostly on religious and political subjects. It became famous during the World War II because people would express their opinions of Hilter and Churchill.

The grounds where Hyde Park is now used to belong to Westminster Abbey, until Henry VIII turned them into royal hunting grounds in 1536. It was first opened to the public in the 17th century.
