Information
Battery Park, New York, NY 10004, EE. UU.
Battery Park is known for having the building that started functioning as the first immigration center of the State of New York in 1855: Castle Garden. Millions of people from all over the world arrived to the park, and due to that ships could be seen docked on shore each day. Castle Garden, now known as Castle Clinton, had that function until 1892, when Ellis Island was created to be the immigration center.
Nowadays, Battery Park has a promenade with views to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, a flower garden, a museum in Castle Clinton and a carousel inspired in aquariums. From this park the ferries depart to visit the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
