The Charging bull sculpture, also refered to as "the Wall Street bull" was designed by Arturo Di Modica. The bull represents the strength and power of the people of the United States, and it was built after the stock market crash in 1987. It was installed in different places of the city, until 1989 when it was installed where it is now, in Bowling Green.

The sculpture began to atract tourists instantly, and it is said the if you rub its horns, nose and testicles you will have good luck.
