This building functions as the headquarters of the City Hall of Paris since 1357. Its a reconstruction of the Renaissance-style building that was erected there before it was burnt down by a fire in 1871, during the Paris Commune.
Nowadays the building still works as the headquarters of the administration of the city, but it also holds receptions and exhibitions, and its open to the public for visits. These are guided and must be reserved beforehand, and they include the Function Room that was designed as a replica of the Hall of Mirrors of the Versailles Palace.

Opening hours: Reservations must be made for the guided tours in the Protocol Department. Regular and temporary exhibitions are free and open every day except on Sundays and bank holidays.
