The Luxembourg Garden is a private park that belongs to the French Senate, its institution is situated in the Luxembourg Palace that's in those grounds. The queen Marie de' Medici was who thought, in 1612, of a garden based on the style of the Boboli Gardens that are in the city of Florence, in Italy. Its amplitude is 25 hectares and its divided in two areas with different styles: the french part and the english part.
On the grounds of the Luxembourg Garden there are greenhouses, an orchard, a geometric wood, a pond and an apiary. It also has 106 statues and the most famous fountain is the Medici fountain. Its a place where visitors can do different activities, like playing tennis or chess, and there's also a playground for kids. During summer season photographic expositions and concerts are held here.
