The Catacombs of Paris are an underground labyrinth situated in former quarries' galleries from which stone was taken to build the French capital. It's 20 meters below the ground level and it consists of the remains of millions of persons which were transferred between the late 1700's and mid 1800's because graveyards had to be closed because they represented dangers to public hearth.

Closed on Monday.
