The Circus Maximus used to be a stadium for chariot races and mass entertainment events in Ancient Rome. It was built in the valley that's located between Aventino and Palatine hills, under the command of the 5th king of Rome, Lucio Tarquinio Prisco.

It was not only the largest stadium of Ancient Rome and the Empire, it could accommodate around 300.000 viewers, but also the first circus to be built. Its measures were 621 metres of length and 118 metres of width.

Nowadays, only some floors remain and it's used as a public park.
