Remuh Synagogue

Sofía says

Definitely my favourite synagogue.

Information

Built in the 16th Century, it's the smallest synagogue in Kazimierz. The walls on the inside are white so that people who are praying don't get distracted. On one of the walls you'll see a board with lights, they are in memorial of the dead.

Adjacent to the synagogue you'll see the cemetery, which was built before the temple. It was desecrated by the nazis during the 2WW who used the gravestones as construction materials. Many of the gravestones were rebuilt and on one side of the cemetery there's a wall made of the remains of the ones which were broken.
