The Padrão dos Descobrimentos monument - in English 'Monument of Discoveries'- is located in Belem, on the bank of the river Tagus. It's a 52 metres tall monument that honors the explorers that helped establish Portugal as a superpower in the 14th Century.
The structure has a small museum of Lisbon's history on the inside and it has an observation platform on top of it.
