I'd suggest checking what time will the sunset be and getting there a little bit earlier, so you get to see the city with sun and at night.

This observation deck is located on top of the Rockefeller Center, therefore its name. It reopened to the public on november 2005 after being remodeled, having been closed for almost twenty years.
The observation deck has an open-air area and another one covered with crystals, because up there the wind is stronger and its colder. From both options the views of New York are 360 degrees, including Central Park, the Hudson and East rivers, the Empire State Building and other well known buildings of the city.
