Wall Street is the main street of the financial sector of the United States, it has the most important stock exchanges: American Stock Exchange (AMEX) and New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). The last one could be visited before the terrorist attacks of september 2001, people were allowed to observe the ones working form a superior deck, but nowadays the building can only be seen from the outside.

The name Wall Street was given because, on the 17th century, the dutch built a wall to defend their neighbourhood, New Amsterdam, of british attacks. The wall was torn down a long time ago, but the name remains.
