Before you Travel
Bookings needed & things you can prepare in advance to make the most of your time once in Paris
The huge majority of travelers visit the following attractions. They need to be booked to avoid huge queues or to guarantee availability.
If it's your first time in Paris you'll definitely want to climb up the iconic Eiffel Tower to check out the views. There are two options: the 2nd floor or the Summit, and we suggest you choose the Summit! Having Paris at your feet is an incredible experience.
The other tickets that you should buy in advance are the ones for the Louvre Museum. The queues to get inside the museum to see the Mona Lisa can be huge, so make sure you have yours ticket in advance!
You should also visit the Montparnasse Tower Terrace to get views of the city with the Eiffel Tower included!
A visit to the Catacombs of Paris is always interesting, and you should definitely book in advance too because it usually gets crowded. Access the undergrounds of the city and find out about the story of the catacombs themselves and the bones of the 6 million people that are there.
If you plan to get away from the city at least for a bit, you definitely have to book tickets for Versailles. It's the Palace where the monarchy lived between 1682 and 1789. See the Hall of Mirrors, the private estate of Marie Antoinette, the Trianon and the beautiful gardens.
Or you could choose to have a really fun day out and enjoy the Disneyland Theme Park of Paris. Spend a magical day in Disneyland® Park and/or Walt Disney Studios® Park enjoying the attractions, the movie characters and shows they have!
The airports of Paris are extremely busy, booking your transfer earlier will avoid you stress and huge queues. Depends on which airport you arrive to, the options and prices you'll have:
The most comfortable way to get from any of the 3 airports to your accomodation is by a Private Service. Booking in advance will assure you that the driver will be waiting for you at your arrival and you will get on your way soon.
As for Charles de Gaulle airport, the price goes from € 81.25 per group of up to 4 people. The time of arrival to your hotel depends on where you're staying.
From Orly Airport to the city center, the price would be from € 76 per group up to 3.
Beauvais airport is the most distant from the center, so the price goes from 160,80 € for a group of up to 3 people.
As for shared transports, these are the best options for each airport:
From Charles de Gaulle airport you could take RER train line B that has stops such as Le Halle,Saint Michel and Gare du Nord. The price is €10,30. You could also take the Roissybus that gets to the Opera, the price is around €12.50.
The best transport from Orly airport is the Orlybus: it gets you to Denfert-Rocheau station in Paris for 8.70€ and from there you can connect with other areas by metro, bus or train.
Beauvais is the furthest airport from the city, so private vans, ubers and taxis are quite expensive. The best option is the Airport bus which will get you to the city center for approx. 20€
