St. Vitus Cathedral is part of the castle complex of Prague and it's the most important church in the country. It's full name is Metropolitan Cathedral of Saint Vitus, Wenceslaus and Adalbert. The building that's there today is the third to be built in the same site, all dedicated to St. Vitus. The first of them was built in 930 and the current one in 1344.

Not only religious services took place in this church along the years, but also coronations of Czech royalty and several persons are buried here, patron saints, sovereigns, noblemen and archbishops.

INFORMATION

Price: There are different circuits to visit the castle complex, and the prices go from CZK 250 for adults and CZK 125 with discount.

Opening Hours: April 1 to October 31, Monday to Saturday from 9:00 to 17:00 and Sunday from 12:00 to 17:00.

November 1 to March 31,  Monday to Saturday from 9:00 to 16:00 and Sunday from 12:00 to 16:00.
