The Hamarikyu Gardens has traditional style and it constrasts with the skyscrapers of Tokyo. In the garden complex there's a pond and a teahouse on an island. Visitors can also find vestiges of the purposes the garden was first built for. It used to be the feudal lord's Tokyo residence and a duck hunting ground, that's why there are some rebuilt duck hunting blinds, an old moat and a reconstructed rock wall. It was later used as a strolling garden and as an imperial detached palace.

Opening hours: every day from 9:00 to 17:00. Last admission at 16:30.

Closed from December 29 to January 1.
