Charles says
Try to arrive really early (earlier than 9) to avoid the crowds and catch a little bit it's former vibe. Later you'll have to coexist with a huge number of tourists.
Sadly, this where a terrorist attack happened in August 2017 killing 14 people.

HISTORY
The Ramblas is a street that connects Plaza Cataluña with the old harbor of Barcelona, where the statue of Cristobal Colón is. It's one of the main attractions of the city, so it's crowded with people both during day and night. It's 1,2 kilometres long and it was inaugurated in the 15th century.
On the pedestrian area there are stalls that sell flowers, food and souvenirs, and on the sides of the street there are different stores and restaurants. On the Ramblas, visitors can also find other points of interest, such as the Boquería Market, the Liceu theatre, a Miró mosaic and the Font de Canaletes, where Barça fans celebrate their triumphs.
