HISTORY
The Park Güell is a public park that consists in gardens and constructions. It was designed by architect Antoni Gaudí and it was built between 1900 and 1914. The park was ordered by Eusebi Güell, it has naturalistic style, inspired in the organic forms of nature, and it doesn't have straight angles, only wavy forms.
Visitors can see elements with references to politics, for example in the stairs of the entrance the Catalan Countries are represented, to religion, like in the Calvary monument, and even mythological, people think the park was inspired by the temple of Apolo.
One part of the park can be accessed for free, but from there visitors can't see Gaudí's constructions from the inside. By paying the entrance people have access to the famous fountain with the dragon, a space with 86 columns, some paths and viaducts and a square from which there are spectacular views of Barcelona.
