The Alte Nationalgalerie is one of the museums in Museum Island. It exhibits paintings of 19th century, including some works by Adolph Menzel, Claude Monet, Auguste Rodin, Auguste Renoir and Casper David Friedrich.
The museum was built between 1866 and 1876 and it was later restored in the style of a Greek neoclassical temple, reopening in 2001.
