The barbican is a gothic structure that's located in the North corner of the Planty Park and through which Kings and important people entered to the city. In arab, "barbican" means "pot", name that was assigned because of its round form.
It was also built as support of the walls of the city to help with the defense of it. It's the biggest and most well-preseved of Europe and it was never conquered.
