The Tower of London is a castle that has been used for different purposes throughout history: it was the royal residence, a fortress, an arsenal and a prison. When it worked as the last one, many famous monarchs, clergymen and aristocrats were imprisoned here after they lost there thrones and were later executed in Tower Green. Some of these characters are: Queen Anne Boleyn, Lady Jane Grey, Baron William Hastings and Thomas More.

The areas that can be visited are: the Crown Jewels that include ceremonial objects like crowns, spectres and swords; the Medieval Palace that has some restored rooms that show how it was like when it functioned as a royal residence; the Chapel Royal of St Peter and Vincula that has some remains of the most famous people executed here; and the White Tower, the main building.
