How to move around town & airport transfer options

Getting from/to the airport

Getting from/to the airport

Barcelona airport is very busy so I recommend to decide and book if possible the transfer that best suits your needs:

The most common option: Aerobus (shuttle bus)

Every 5-10 min from 5h35 to 01h00. 5,90€ single ticket, 10,20€ return ticket (valid for 15 days).

Fastest way if you go anywhere in the City Center or near Pl. Espanya, Urgell, Universitat and Pl. Catalunya metro stations.

Buy online to avoid queues at your arrival and save 15% with the return ticket.

Shuttle Bus tickets

The Door-to-door options

If you're travelling 3, 4 or more people they won't be much more expensive than Aerobus for everyone.

  • Taxi: 25-35 min. 25-40€ depending on the traffic jam and where you go.
  • Book a Private airport pick-up: from 36€ . I recommend it: you’ll avoid the long taxi queues, you know what you pay in advance and the price is similar to taxis.

The Cheapest Options:

You need to buy a HolaBCN! Card or T-10 card first. You can buy these cards at the train & metro station only at T2 terminal.

  • Train: If you don’t land at T2, you need to take a free shuttle bus from T1 to T2. Trains leave every 30 min from 6:08 to 23:38. It takes 20 min. to Sants station (L3, L5 metro lines), 25 min. to Passeig de Gràcia station (city center, L3, L4, L2 metro lines) and 30 min. to Clot station (L1, L2 metro lines).

  • Bus 46: From 5h30 to 23h50. Every 15 - 25 min. It takes 45 min to Plaça Espanya / Av. del Paral·lel (L1, L3 metro lines)

  • Metro: A good option if you stay at South Barcelona (Plaça Europa, Fira, Hospitalet, Cornellà or Near Camp Nou). Airport special ticket: 4,6€. Included in the HolaBcn card. Book it online to save 5%

How to move around

How to move around

It’s pretty easy to move around Barcelona, you just have to choose your way :)

The Comfy & panoramic way - Hop On & Hop Off Buses:

Perfect option for those who don’t like crowded metros or walking much. I recommend the Bus Turistic, from the Official Barcelona Tourism Office. They have 3 lines that reach all the main attractions and even some local neighborhoods or hidden monuments.

Hop on Hop Off Bus

The Local Way - Rent a Scooter

The perfect option for those who want to go local or want to make the most of their time. With a moto you’ll reach any place in Barcelona in a few minutes. Through the Official Barcelona Tourism site you have a 10%

Scooter rental - 10% Off

The cheapest & common option - Public Transport:

Public transport in Barcelona works fine and is very reliable.

Metro opens from Monday to Thursday 05:00-00:00, Fridays and holiday eve's 05:00-02:00 and Saturday all night.

Buses and Trams finish at 23h, but then you have night buses that work all night long.

For transport tickets you have 3 options:

  1. Hola BCN!: The easiest option, you can buy it for 2, 3, 4 or 5 days. Valid for consecutive days for one person, for unlimited trips. It includes the airport's Metro and you have 10% if you book online.

  2. T-10: valid for ten trips. It works for metro, bus, train and tram. You can use the same ticket for several people, but each will count as one trip.

  3. Single ticket: if you're going to use public transport it's not advisable that you buy a ticket each time, it will be way more expensive.
